Specialized Mountain Bikes
Specialized is officially known as the Specialized Bicycle Components, and is based out of Morgan Hill, California. It was founded over 30 years ago in 1974 by Mike Sinyard. The Specialized bike company now make a massive range of bikes dominating the US market and quickly bringing their great bikes to the UK.
The man who started it was a cycling enthusiast who sold his car at the time to fund a cycling tour of Europe. He bought specialized parts there to take back to the US, and it began to manufacture its own bike parts in 1976. Its first part was the Specialized Touring Tyre. Specialized is famous not just for its bicycles, but for its bike parts too, and it started with parts before it moved up to bikes. Its first parts were actually imported from Italy. Specialized came out with the first major production mountain bike that had been seen anywhere in the world. For this reason, it is probably one of the most profitable mountain bike manufacturers. The original model bike called the Stumpjumper is now on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
Over the years, it introduced many more bikes and ranges of bikes including the Globe line and Full Force brand. The company sells gear, clothing, helmets, parts, and 25 bikes approximately. It sells mostly mountain bikes, but it also sells road, all-road & freeroad, multi street, and BMX bikes. It sells a full range of mountain bikes that is constantly being perfected like the Epic, Stumpjumper FSR, Era FSR, Safire FSR, Myka FSR, FSRxc, Enduro SL, Pitch, SX Trail, Demo, BigHit, P.Bikes, Stumpjumper HT, Era HT, Rockhopper, Hardrock, HRXC, and Hotrock.
Many bicycle athletes in recent years have used Specialized bikes in professional competition circuits. Competitors in both North America and Europe have used the bikes. They are internationally recognized as the pioneer of all mountain bikes. Let’s take a look at the individual mountain bikes that Specialized offers. The Epic is a winner of an XC World Championship, and it is light at just 21.5 pounds. It is the lightest, fastest, and most efficient bike that Specialized sells.
There is an integrated approach to the design that ensures that all the components work together. There are several Epic models like S-Works Epic Carbon Disc, S-Works Epic Carbon Frameset, Epic Marathon Carbon, Epic Marathon Carbon 20, Epic Marathon 29, Epic Marathon 29 Frame, Epic Marathon Frame, Epic Expert Carbon, Epic Expert, Epic Comp Carbon, Epic Comp 29, and Epic Comp.
All are pretty expensive but considering the great quality, design and manufacturing of these amazing bikes they are often worth it if your a serious cyclist. The S-Works Epic Carbon Disc is the most expensive because it has won championships, and more work went into its features, technical specifications, geometry, and underlying cohesiveness than other bikes.
