Trek 2.1 Compact Road Bike

Trek 2.1 Compact Road Bike

Trek 2.1 Overview

The Trek 2.1 Compact is the road bike of choice for anyone who wants to enjoy the same level of competitive prestige as the manufacturer’s Madone range but without the associated price tag. Its race-ready aluminium frame with professional-grade geometry helps it to hold its head high and Shimano 105 components give it a suitably solid grounding. Adding to the light aluminium frame is the Bontrager Race carbon fork, a sturdy, vibration-minimising component that identifies the competitive spirit that helped to build this bike.

The Trek 2.1 Compact is a road bike designed with serious riders in mind, but it will not put off amateurs thanks to its relatively modest price. The frame geometry forces you to ride it in a manner that will improve your performance and minimise drag and like the high-end bikes, which it apes, you will need to supply your own pedals to complete the package. As well as the Bontrager carbon fork you get Bontrager hubs and tyres, each honed and perfected to make sure that you can race and win. Of course, in this price bracket the bike is also suitable for recreational use and people who want to stay in shape will find it to be an equally valid investment.

The red of the frame at the front blends into black as you move towards the rear of the Trek 2.1 Compact. A brief glance at the bike will tell you that it is not a flimsy choice and it will clearly be ready to help you during sprints and climbs with its focused set up providing the perfect platform for future success.

Like many cyclists, I've been riding since I was very young and despite now being less-young, I love it just as much. I've done my time on road bikes, have cycled throughout the UK, including Lands End to John O' Groats (yes, uphill!) and now have fun on a mountain bike, in the hills and doing charity bike rides.
