Trek 3700 Mountain Bike

Trek 3700

The Trek 3700 is the perfect mountain bike for anyone with a modest budget who wants to go one step beyond the basic bikes offered by retailers. Consider this bike if you want a taste of some high-end features without feeling the pinch when you look at your bank balance. Trek has taken these points into consideration and come up with a mountain bike that manages to retain much of the high-end sheen associated with this brand whilst still coming into the market at an attainable price. Now you just need to work out whether it is worth spending a little more and getting a cycle that drastically outclasses the bargain basement options.

Trek 3700 Overview

Although this is not an expensive bike it deserves recognition for a variety of very competent components. The light aluminium frame and the spring-loaded SR Suntour fork, which can take up the slack when the ride gets rough, are just two clear examples of this. Elsewhere, Shimano components, Tektro brakes and a wealth of Bontrager-branded goodies are on full display. The Trek 3700 wears its branding in full view with bold decals and company logos present, so casual observers will be able to see just what hardware it is packing.

The frame is mostly black, with swishes of grey and small details of lime green present to mix things up a little and make it stand out from the generic bikes that fill the streets. This is a mountain bike by name but even if you never take to anywhere more treacherous than the local park you will get the benefits of its hardtail set up, with the precision and performance which that entails.

Like many cyclists, I've been riding since I was very young and despite now being less-young, I love it just as much. I've done my time on road bikes, have cycled throughout the UK, including Lands End to John O' Groats (yes, uphill!) and now have fun on a mountain bike, in the hills and doing charity bike rides.
