Trek 3900 Disc Mountain Bike

Trek 3900

The Trek 3900 Disc provides thrills from the top end of the market whilst minimising the chance of spills thanks to its mechanical disc braking system. The SR Suntour fork provides 100mm of travel for a suitably smooth ride across the most rugged terrain imaginable. It is relatively affordable when you consider the array of components on offer and so even if you are not a hugely serious rider, you will be able to make the most out of the Trek 3900 Disc.

Trek 3900 Disc Overview

Although this might be described as a beginner’s bike or a casual cycle it is by no means lacking in character. The aluminium frame will not weigh you down and will be a solid supporter of all your efforts. Meanwhile the SR Suntour spring-loaded shock on the front fork will absorb the inevitable bumps that can rock and ruin lesser bikes. In addition, the Tektro disc brakes are a welcome sight, providing superior stopping power, which cannot be matched by calliper brakes. This means that if you are moving up from a cheaper bike you will have quite a few changes to absorb, but in a short space of time, you will never want to go back to your old bike.

The dark blue paint job of the Trek 3900 Disc looks great and does a good job of providing a focused finish to the bike as a whole. Branding is present from the various contributing manufacturers and so those in the know will be able to appreciate its abilities, from the Bontrager tyres to the Shimano gears. If you want a bike that will be a great companion for off-roading in your spare time or simply as a way to get around your local area then the Trek 3900 Disc is a mountain bike that deserves a second glance.

Like many cyclists, I've been riding since I was very young and despite now being less-young, I love it just as much. I've done my time on road bikes, have cycled throughout the UK, including Lands End to John O' Groats (yes, uphill!) and now have fun on a mountain bike, in the hills and doing charity bike rides.
