Eskute have come a long way since we first published our review of the then limited range, where they had just the Eskute Voyager and Wayfarer electric bikes. The range now includes hybrid bikes, mountain bikes, folding bikes and dedicated commuter bikes, all of which are of course electric bikes.
Our electric bike reviews include a off-road mountain bikes and the more sedate city commuter or hybrid bikes. Both the Eskute Voyager electric mountain bike and the Eskute Wayfarer electric hybrid bike are built to the same high standards and feature quality components throughout. Eskute dispatch orders for UK customers from within the United Kingdom so delivery is usually within a few days. They are also available on Amazon and have established themselves as providing standards of customer service that match their equally high standards of manufacture. We really enjoyed testing these two eBikes and rate them highly.

Eskute Voyager Electric Mountain Bike Review
The Eskute Voyager Electric Bike is the sleek designed mountain bike option from Eskute. To the untrained eye, this looks like any other off-road mountain bike yet looking more closely at the down tube and you will see it hides a powerful battery to drive the 250W motor for power-assisted cycling. Electric Bikes have risen in popularity in recent years and have allowed a much broader range of cyclists to enjoy this wonderful pastime than before, and especially supports those who are older and those returning from injury. Eskute Electric Bikes or eBikes are bicycles which have a motor and battery attached. These help to power the bike, providing you with power assisted pedalling, making it easier to pedal. With an eBike you still pedal as normal but the addition of the motor means you get some assistance, which is particularly useful on hills and for those looking to build up their fitness levels. The Eskute Electric Mountain Bike is one of the sleekest designs we’ve tested and offers design excellence to match its quality build.
The Voyager is powered by a BAFANG 250W brushless gear motor, making it ideal for power assisted pedalling up hills and along cycle paths. The electric motor is suitable for steep inclines and long distance cycling so only the cyclist limits the options. The addition of Shimano disc brakes at the front and rear ensures the stopping power compliments the forward drive, making this an excellent choice for both beginners and more experienced cyclists alike.
The large capacity 36V 12.5Ah battery uses the Eskute Battery Management System (BMS) to protect the electric bike battery and ensures the battery life is maximised for longevity and safety. The battery can be charged from 4 to 8 hours, meaning you can cycle to work, recharge the battery and cycle home, perfect if you live 50km from work, otherwise there’s no need to recharge. The battery itself is built-in to the bike frame, hiding it away and helping to give an all-round sleek design.
The aluminium alloy frame feels good quality and we were impressed with it on our test review. Speeds are limited by law in the UK but you can legally ride up to 15.5 mph (25 kph) and comfortably cycle up to a range of 40 to 65 km in pedal assist mode or up to 40 km in pure electric mode, subject to conditions of course.
There are 3 cycling modes;
- Pure Electric Mode – Set the gauge to speed 0, turn the throttle and accelerate.
- Pedal Assist Mode – There are 5 gears with most effort required in gear 1 and the least in gear 5.
- Pedal mode – If you don’t turn on the power mode, it’s like a normal bicycle.
The Eskute Voyager electric mountain bike is fitted with high quality bike components such as disc brake, KMC chain, 27.5-inch tyres etc. The LCD screen clearly provides basic ride info and the disc brakes combined with the front shock-absorbing forks offer a double guarantee of comfort and safety.
Eskute have also developed an ergonomic bike design that helps to relieve discomfort over longer bike rides, of up to 65km. The 27.5-inch wheels offer a slightly elevated riding position and the wider mountain bike tyres give greater grip, especially along cycling paths and inclines, so you can easily cycle across rough terrain to reach destinations you may not previously have managed or considered.

The Eskute Wayfarer is an electric bike designed for city cycling and as such is built as a hybrid bike. Like it’s sibling, the Wayfarer bike is well-built from quality materials and components, including disc brakes, KMC chain and Shimano parts. Eskute have matched many of the features found in the Voyager model for their city loving Wayfarer bike. It uses the powerful BAFANG electric motor with a 250W brushless gear motor for long-lasting performance and durability. As per UK legal restrictions, it has a maximum speed of 25 kph or 15.5 mph. The battery can help to give a range of up to 65km subject to riding conditions, although this drops to 40km in pure electric mode. The key is to use the electric mode sparingly and to use human-mode as much as you can to enable further distances to be reached. We’d recommend saving the motor for the hills, headwinds and the last bit when you’re tired.
The Wayfarer battery is long-lasting if used with pedal-power and has a high capacity 36V 10Ah battery which can be charged in just 6-8 hours. The Eskute Battery Management System (BMS) protects the battery and helps to ensure it lasts longer than without the management system. The aluminium alloy frame with built-in battery offers a sleek design and high quality. The Eskute electric bike offers good performance and an eBike with style, ideal for everyday use and cycling to/from work. With a weight of 25kg, the Wayfarer City Bike is an ideal commuter bike and with it’s sleek design, it’ll be hard for most people to even know it’s an electric bike.
Eskute have fitted quality components to the Wayfarer such as disc brakes front and rear, a quality KMC chain and led lights. It might seem strange to highlight a KMC chain but it’s the primary driving force of any bike and so having quality in this area is really important and often overlooked. The LCD screen provides basic cycling info whilst the 28-inch tyres, the double disc-brakes and the front shock-absorbing forks offer safety and comfort.
