The Oppikle Electric Mountain Bike comes equipped with a 36V 8Ah lithium-ion battery to power the 250W electric motor. A fully charged battery will give you a full range of around 50 km, depending on riding style and road conditions, at a top speed of 15 mph (25 kph).
As we’ve seen with each of the electric bikes recently reviewed, they’re a great way to help with fitness, despite being fitted with an electric motor.
Electric bikes are generally fitted with several modes, enabling power assisted cycling when needed, and no assistance when not needed. This allows you to cycle under your own leg-power for long periods where you’re capable and just give a little boost when you need help, maybe after a certain length of time or uphill. This makes your daily commute to work easier, less stressful and slightly quicker but yet still gives you the fun and excitement of cycling outdoors.
They are quite straightforward to use, it’s just like riding a bike! You pedal as you would on a non-electric bike, and when in assisted-mode, the motor will kick-in to help you cycle more freely. This is especially useful during steep hills, cycling in a strong wind, helping older cyclists or those recovering from an injury. The handlebar has a LCD display which shows you several different levels of assistance, meaning that you can still be in control.

This Oppikle mountain bike features a 250W electric motor, powered by a rechargeable 8Ah lithium-ion battery, which can be charged on or off the bike, the latter also enabling the battery to be removed from the bike when left unaccompanied for added security. It also means you can ride to work, charge the battery in the office throughout the day, and then cycle home.
One of the additional key features of the Oppikle bike is that it can be easily folded-away when not in use, making it easy to store at home or in the office. When used as part of your daily cycle commute, folding bikes offer a great solution, especially on crowded city centre transport, eg. buses, trains, London underground.
The mountain bike design, coupled with the dual suspension, enables off road trail-style riding, with a little boost when needed from the electric motor. This gives you that extra support to ensure the fun keeps going, even when you’re feeling tired. Whilst you may not be looking for off-road adventure, a mountain bike may still be relevant and useful as the suspension takes the lumps and bumps out of any ride, allowing you to get to your destination with less aches and pains.
The frame is made from aluminium alloy, resulting in a solid feel but at 27 kg, this isn’t a lightweight bike, for example, it is 5 kg more than the Hyuhome electric bike. However, whilst low weight frames enable faster acceleration, slightly heavier bikes feel more robust and sturdy so despite not being the lightest bike we’ve reviewed, it may be more suitable for some cyclists, and does of course have an electric motor for when needed.
The bike mechanics are complimented by double disc brakes and steel forks for stability and security, enabling stopping safely even in wet weather.
The Oppikle eBike is definitely going to provide you with some weekend fun or midweek assistance on your commute and at current prices there aren’t many cheaper electric bikes on the market. Amazon customer rating is 4.7 out of 5 at the time of review.
