Scott Voltage FR Review
Scott’s Voltage FR mountain bikes are affordable and highly capable in a number of different situations, whether deployed competitively or for fun. Full suspension setups allow them to take big impacts in their stride and there is enough compliance for downhill action.
Scott Voltage FR 20
The Voltage FR 20 has an alloy frame with hydroformed tubing and adjustable geometry and travel, letting the rider customise the bike’s setup depending on the type of terrain or course they will be facing. There is also an interchangeable dropout system that lets you stiffen up the rear end of the bike where required, while the E-Thirteen chainguide is on hand to keep the chain in place during descents and jumps that might leave other drivetrains uncoupled.
A RockShox Domain R fork sits up front with 180mm of travel on offer, while an X-Fusion Vector R shock keeps things composed at the back, using Scott’s own custom tuning to complement the rest of the bike.
SRAM X4 and X5 equipment is used in the drivetrain, with Shimano BR-M445 disc brakes, Syncros FR32 Disc rims and Schwalbe Magic Mary tyres taking charge underneath.

Scott Voltage FR 10
The same alloy frame is used for the Voltage FR 10, but this time it comes with a RockShox Domain Dual Crown R fork and a Fox VAN R shock.
The drivetrain is made up of kit from the SRAM X5 and X7 groupsets, with Shimano Deore BR-M615 disc brakes latching onto 203mm rotors at the front and rear.
A Syncros FR2.0 seatpost and FR2.5 saddle are included with this bike, as are WEllgo B155U SCT pedals for persistent, reliable pedalling. Hard wearing DT Swiss Industry spokes are tough enough to match the durability of the rest of the Voltage FR 10 and invite riders to be bold in their decision-making.
