Souke Sports Cargo Bib Shorts : A Comprehensive Personal Review
This is a personal review of the Souke Bib Shorts from a cyclists’ perspective after a number of road bike rides. I’ve previously written about some of my favourite Gorewear products so I’m keen to compare these new Souke bib shorts to this iconic brand, especially as the price differential is huge.
For experienced cyclists, bib shorts are almost as essential as the bike itself, I’d not dream of going out without a decent pair of shorts, even for a short ride. And for those new to cycling, once you get over the I’ll look silly thoughts, you’ll want to invest in a good pair of bib shorts before anything else.
The Souke Cargo Bib Shorts are a blend of comfort, durability, and practicality with a design tailored for endurance rides. These shorts have a solid seat with the feeling of high-density padding, which gave me the confidence that they would protect throughout a longer ride (3-4 hours). Like all leading bib short suppliers, Souke offer their cycling products in breathable materials, helping to ensure performance and comfort on long rides.
About Souke Cycling
Souke Cycling is a growing cycling apparel brand known for producing high-quality, affordable gear tailored for road, gravel, and casual riders. While not currently as widely recognised as other premium European brands like Rapha or Gorewear, Souke has gained a loyal following among riders seeking value-driven performance gear.
Souke Bib Shorts : Features & Benefits
Material & Fabric Composition
As you’d expect, these bib shorts are made from a blend of nylon and spandex, which definitely delivers comfort and durability on the rides I’ve done so far. The fabric feels hardwearing and durable yet flexible when worn, the usual stretchy feel you’d ant from any cycling shorts. The shorts are lightweight and Souke say the material will draw moisture away from the skin, keeping you cool and dry on each ride.
The bottom of the shorts have a strong elasticated grip, which held the shorts in place through each ride. The fit is reassuringly snug (who wants flappy shorts) and an aerodynamic fit but without any constraints of movement, making them ideal for long-distance cycling and high-performance riding, although I’ve only done 2 hours rides so far.
