Specialized Allez Review

The Allez range has been extensively redesigned for 2014, retaining the innate affordability of these road bikes while improving various features to enhance the value of the package. For a speed and acceleration-oriented experience on the tarmac, the Allez is an impressive option.

A double-butted A1 Premium alloy frame is light and hardwearing, giving the basic Allez a good grounding for road racing. Tektro brakes, Shimano 2400 Claris drivetrain components and AXIS Classic wheels are also present.

Specialized Allez Sport

The alloy frame comes with a FACT carbon fork to lower the bike’s weight, while the Shimano Sora drivetrain offers quick shifts and long term reliability. In addition the Specialized Espoir Sport tyres at the front and rear come with double BlackBelt protection to reduce punctures.

Specialized Allez Elite

For the Allez Elite you get the same alloy frame and carbon fork combo, but this time the drivetrain uses Shimano Tiagra components, along with STI shifters for responsive performance.

Specialized Allez Race

The Allez Race gets a full manipulated E5 Premium Aluminium frame, which has a tapered headtube and uses smartweld technology to great effect. The Tarmac Comp carbon fork aids stiffness and ensures stability, with AXIS 2.0 wheels helping to enhance aerodynamics.

Shimano 105 gearing and R561 brakes are a welcome inclusion, keeping you moving forward and in control on a bike which, as the name suggests, is handy in a race.
