Specialized Camber Review

The Camber range of mountain bikes from Specialized consists of trail-optimised models that harness 29 inch wheels for smooth, consistent all-terrain rolling, along with frames using alloy and carbon constructions to cater to your budget.

The standard Camber is defined by its M5 alloy FSR frame, X-Fusion O2 RL rear shock, Suntour XCR 29 fork and 110mm of body travel. Tektro Draco 2 hydraulic disc brakes and various Shimano Deore and SLX drivetrain components are included.

The Camber Evo ups the ante with a Fox Float CTD Evolution rear shock and a RockShox Reba RL 29 fork, combining for 120mm of travel. Formula C1 disc brakes at the front and rear are onboard, along with an SRAM X7/X9 drivetrain.

Specialized Camber Comp Carbon

As the name suggests you get a new FACT 9m FSR frame for this version of the Camber, with a FOX Float CTD Evolution shock at the rear which Specialized has adjusted in-house to suit this bike. A FOX Float CTD Evolution Series 29 fork offers 110mm of travel and the same adjustability as the suspension at the back end.

Specialized Camber Expert Carbon Evo

A carbon frame and the FOX rear shock from the Comp Carbon are also found on the Expert Carbon Evo, but the presence of the RockShox Pike RC fork, which has been redesigned for 2014, is promising. Formula T1 S brakes are a custom fit for this model, along with a reliable and light SRAM X01 drivetrain that includes a carbon crankset for further weight reduction.
