Trek 7.1 FX 2011 Hybrid Bike

If you want a bike that is a jack-of-all-trades then the Trek 7.1 FX is well worth checking out because of its non-specialised set up. It is just at home on the daily commute as it is on an arduous workout session where miles of tarmac will fall beneath its tyres. Calling it versatile does not mean that it is lacking in focus because with 21 gears, an alloy frame and high-end components, it is clear to see that thought has gone into its design. Whether you are a serious cyclist, someone who wants to improve their fitness levels or just someone who wants a greener way to get to work in the morning, the Trek 7.1 FX is here to help.

Trek 7.1 FX Overview

The price of this model is relatively affordable although no corners have been cut when choosing the contributing manufacturers. Shimano is responsible for the gears whilst Tektro has supplied the brakes and Bontrager has dealt with the rims, tyres and handlebars. Of course, some people will be fans of other brands but it is good to see that Trek has used the components in a unified manner. This light, lithe bike handles well and although it is not at the top of the class, it is still a fine machine deserving of your custom.

The design of the Trek 7.1 FX is disappointingly anonymous. The dark blue frame lacks any real sparkle and it might be easy to forget where you left it if you have it parked up amongst a group of other bikes at the train station all day. However, some people will like this anonymity and lack of flash and given that this bike is more concerned with giving you a blank canvas for fitness or fun, its style is in keeping with this ethos.
