Scott Genius 900 Review
Big frame travel and a full suspension setup make the Genius 900 range equipped for seriously rugged terrain where big hits are guaranteed. The 29 inch wheels help to even out tricky surfaces and both alloy and carbon frame options help to cater to differing budgets.
Scott Genius 940
The Scott Genius 940 has an alloy frame with custom butted, hydroformed tubes and a tapered headtube for additional stiffness. A Fox 32 Float Evolution CTD fork and shock combination gives 130mm of travel and offers three different damper settings, making this a versatile mountain bike.
The drivetrain uses Shimano Deore XT and Deore equipment and you get BR-M615 brakes at the front and rear. Syncros XC rims, DT Swiss Champion Black spokes and Schwalbe Nobby Nic Performance tyres make up the 29er wheelset.
Scott Genius 930
The alloy frame and Fox 32 Float Evolution fork are joined by the Fox Nude rear shock with custom Scott-defined travel. Switching between the damper modes is easy using the TwinLoc remote technology and the Shimano SLX drivetrain is equally responsive when shifting gears.
SLX BR-M675 disc brakes are found onboard the Genius 930, along with the Syncros FL1.5 seatpost and TR2.0 saddle on Cr-Mo rails. This model features DT Swiss Competition spokes and Schwalbe Nobby Nic EVO tyres to keep the rider composed and comfortable.
Scott Genius 920
If you are into carbon bikes then the IMP frame of the Genius 920 will be an attractive proposition. You still get 130mm of travel from the Fox suspension, but this model is lighter than its more affordable siblings so that it is less of a burden to bear.
