Specialized Stumpjumper Review
The hardtail entrants in the Stumpjumper range offer a wealth of carbon frames, 29 inch wheels and race-tuned geometry which combine to create a competitive proposition for mountain bike riders.
The Stumpjumper Comp Carbon harnesses a FACT 8m carbon HT frame that has geometry tuned to its 29er wheelset. Hollow carbon dropouts and a tapered head tube are included, along with a RockShox Reba RL 29 fork up front that has 90mm of travel available to take the biggest hits.
The SRAM drivetrain and custom crankset ensures that the bike can shift through its gears reliably, while Formula C1 disc brakes keep the bike under control with hydraulic precision.
Specialized Stumpjumper Expert Carbon
With this model you get the new FACT 10m carbon frame, which features internal routing of all cables and is endowed with a customised RockShox SID 29 fork that includes 90mm of travel that is delivered intelligently thanks to the Specialized Brain inertia-valve damping technology.
An SRAM S-2200 carbon double XC crankset is hard-wearing and also very light, while Magura MTS hydraulic disc brakes at the front and rear are managed by levers that combine carbon and alloy to achieve a similar goal.

Specialized Stumpjumper Marathon Carbon
The carbon frame of this model is combined with S-Works XC carbon handlebars, Roval Control Carbon 29 rims and a Body Geometry Phenom Expert saddle on hollow titanium rails to further the efforts of weight reduction that Specialized has made.
SRAM X0 components in the drivetrain and Magura MT6 hydraulic disc brakes are well suited to this setup, with the carbon crankset making a return.
Specialized S-Works Stumpjumper Carbon
For the top hardtail experience in the current Stumpjumper range, this S-Works model is the place to get your fill, assuming money is no object of course. A FACT IS 11m carbon frame is lighter and stiffer than its stable mates, joining forces with a RockShox SID World Cup 29 fork, a carbon Roval Control SL wheelset, Shimano XRT brakes and drivetrain components.
